What customers say

“They were the EMS for my laptop! In town from out-of-state and photographing a 3 day Division 1 Track and Field Championship and at the track for 10-12 hrs @ Day, they gave me the code for their secure Dropbox. Knowing my situation, they called with the diagnosis the next morning right after they opened. They special ordered the part. They called me to assure me it would be repaired in time and asked if there were any other concerns. They checked some speed issues out and put in more Ram. I picked it up from the Dropbox the next day and traveled home editing away. These people truly care about their customer's needs and are so very professional and knowledgeable exhibiting a courteous and caring response. If I have any other issues, I may just ship the item to them! They are awesome!”

How it works

1

Contact us first

Tell us what happened. We'll say honestly whether mail-in makes sense for your device — sometimes it doesn't, and we'll tell you.

2

Leave the battery out

Do not ship lithium batteries. Damaged and swollen batteries are prohibited by every carrier, ground included, and a crashed or liquid-damaged device may have one even if it looks fine. We test with ours. If we need yours, we'll ask.

3

Pack it well and ship it ground

Inbound shipping is your responsibility. Wrap the device securely — especially if it's already damaged.

4

Free diagnostic on arrival

We find exactly what failed and assess whether the repair is viable.

5

Firm quote before any work

Nothing happens until you approve it. No surprises.

6

We repair, test, and ship it back free

Return shipping is free and insured for your device's declared value.

7

90-day workmanship warranty

Same coverage as a walk-in repair. If it fails for the same reason within 90 days, we fix it free.

Do not ship lithium batteries

Damaged or swollen lithium batteries are prohibited by all carriers — ground, air, and freight. A crashed or liquid-damaged device may have a compromised battery even if it looks fine from the outside. Leave the battery out. We test with ours; if we need yours for calibration, we'll ask.

The honest part

Mail-in adds shipping time on both ends. If there's a shop near you that can do the repair, use them. We're for the repairs nobody near you can do — board-level micro-soldering, in-house data recovery, drone rebuilds, retro consoles. If your repair doesn't fall into that category, we'll tell you at the first call.

Local? Borrow a laptop instead of waiting.

If you're in the Charlotte area and your laptop is in for repair, you don't have to sit without one. Borrow a loaner while yours is with us — leave a deposit that goes toward your repair, returned if we can't fix it. Windows and macOS options, subject to availability. Just ask at drop-off.

Local? Use the after-hours dropbox instead

If you're in the Charlotte area but can't make our hours, ask about our secure after-hours drop-off. Drop your device, we call you with the diagnosis when we open, and you collect it when it suits you.

Frequently asked questions

Do you really repair devices by mail?

Yes — mostly board-level work that nobody near the customer offers. Free diagnostic on arrival, firm quote before any work starts, free insured return shipping, no fix no fee.

Who pays shipping?

You cover shipping to us. Return shipping is free and insured for your device's declared value.

Should I ship my battery?

No. Leave it out. Damaged and swollen lithium batteries are prohibited by all carriers, ground included. A crashed or liquid-damaged device may have a compromised battery even if it looks fine. We test with ours.

What if you can't fix it?

You don't pay for the repair. We'll tell you honestly at the diagnostic stage what failed and whether it's fixable.

How long does it take?

Bench time depends on the repair — most board-level work is 2–5 business days — plus shipping each way. You get an honest timeline at the quote.

How do you handle my data?

Component-level repair leaves your storage untouched. Nothing is copied or retained. We repair the board or component that failed — your data stays where it is.
