What customers say

“They were the EMS for my laptop! In town from out-of-state and photographing a 3 day Division 1 Track and Field Championship and at the track for 10-12 hrs @ Day, they gave me the code for their secure Dropbox. Knowing my situation, they called with the diagnosis the next morning right after they opened. They special ordered the part. They called me to assure me it would be repaired in time and asked if there were any other concerns. They checked some speed issues out and put in more Ram. I picked it up from the Dropbox the next day and traveled home editing away. These people truly care about their customer's needs and are so very professional and knowledgeable exhibiting a courteous and caring response. If I have any other issues, I may just ship the item to them! They are awesome!”

Mail-in laptop repair

Most laptop problems that justify mailing are board-level: no power, no display, dead USB ports, or failure after a drop or spill. We diagnose to the component, not the board. If your repair is a screen or battery and you're near Charlotte, drop it in. If it's a logic fault nobody near you will touch, ship it. Starting at $69; board-level faults from $149. Free diagnostic on arrival.

Mail-in MacBook logic board repair

Apple doesn't repair MacBook logic boards — they replace them, charge $700+, and wipe your data. We repair the board itself: failed power management ICs, shorted capacitors, T2 errors, liquid damage, no-chime faults. Ship us the MacBook, keep your data. Most board repairs are $149–$300 and are done in 2–5 business days. Free diagnostic, no fee if we can't fix it.

Mail-in motherboard repair

PC and laptop motherboard repair by mail — not board swaps. We trace faults to the specific failed component and replace it under a microscope. Dead laptops, POST failures, no-power PCs, VRM faults, shorted rails. Ship it, we diagnose it for free, quote you before touching anything, and return it insured. From $149.

Mail-in data recovery

Dead hard drives, failed SSDs, water-damaged phones and laptops, corrupted RAID arrays. We do data recovery in-house — not sent to a cleanroom lab, not quoted sight-unseen. Ship your drive or device, we assess it for free, tell you the odds and a firm price, and only proceed when you approve. From $99. No recovery, no fee.

How to mail in your device

Contact us first — tell us what happened and what the device is. We'll confirm mail-in makes sense and give you our shipping address. Use a rigid box (not a mailer envelope) with bubble wrap on all sides. Include your name, phone number, and a one-line description of the fault. Do not ship swollen or damaged lithium batteries. Ship with tracking; we recommend insuring for the device's value. We'll call or email with a diagnosis and quote within 1 business day of receiving it, and ship it back free via tracked insured carrier once the repair is approved and complete.

How it works

1

Contact us first

Tell us what happened. We'll say honestly whether mail-in makes sense for your device — sometimes it doesn't, and we'll tell you.

2

Leave the battery out

Do not ship lithium batteries. Damaged and swollen batteries are prohibited by every carrier, ground included, and a crashed or liquid-damaged device may have one even if it looks fine. We test with ours. If we need yours, we'll ask.

3

Pack it well and ship it ground

Inbound shipping is your responsibility. Wrap the device securely — especially if it's already damaged.

4

Free diagnostic on arrival

We find exactly what failed and assess whether the repair is viable.

5

Firm quote before any work

Nothing happens until you approve it. No surprises.

6

We repair, test, and ship it back free

Return shipping is free and insured for your device's declared value.

7

90-day workmanship warranty

Same coverage as a walk-in repair. If it fails for the same reason within 90 days, we fix it free.

Do not ship lithium batteries

Damaged or swollen lithium batteries are prohibited by all carriers — ground, air, and freight. A crashed or liquid-damaged device may have a compromised battery even if it looks fine from the outside. Leave the battery out. We test with ours; if we need yours for calibration, we'll ask.

The honest part

Mail-in adds shipping time on both ends. If there's a shop near you that can do the repair, use them. We're for the repairs nobody near you can do — board-level micro-soldering, in-house data recovery, drone rebuilds, retro consoles. If your repair doesn't fall into that category, we'll tell you at the first call.

Local? Borrow a laptop instead of waiting.

If you're in the Charlotte area and your laptop is in for repair, you don't have to sit without one. Borrow a loaner while yours is with us — leave a deposit that goes toward your repair, returned if we can't fix it. Windows and macOS options, subject to availability. Just ask at drop-off.

Local? Use the after-hours dropbox instead

If you're in the Charlotte area but can't make our hours, ask about our secure after-hours drop-off. Drop your device, we call you with the diagnosis when we open, and you collect it when it suits you.

Frequently asked questions

Which states do you accept mail-in repairs from?

We accept mail-in repairs from anywhere in the continental United States. Customers in Hawaii and Alaska are also welcome — contact us first so we can confirm shipping options.

How do I package my device safely for shipping?

Use a padded box with bubble wrap on all sides. Do not use an envelope or poly mailer for phones, tablets, or laptops. Remove any loose accessories. Include your name, phone number, and a brief description of the fault inside the box.

How long does a mail-in repair take?

We aim to diagnose within 1 business day of receiving the device and complete approved repairs within 3–5 business days. Total turnaround including both-way shipping is typically 7–10 business days.

Do you cover return shipping?

Return shipping is included in the quoted price for approved repairs. We ship back via USPS Priority or UPS Ground with tracking. Expedited return shipping is available on request for an additional fee.

What if the repair costs more than expected?

We call or email with a firm quote before starting any work. You always approve the cost before we proceed. If you decline, we ship your device back at no charge.

Is my device insured during shipping?

Return shipments are insured up to the repair value at no extra cost. We recommend insuring your outbound shipment yourself based on the device's value.

Can you do data recovery by mail?

Yes. Data recovery is one of our most common mail-in requests. Pack your device carefully, ship it with tracking, and we'll diagnose and quote the recovery before any work begins.

What warranty covers a mail-in repair?

The same 90-day workmanship warranty that covers in-shop repairs. If a mail-in repair fails within 90 days, ship it back and we'll fix it at no charge.
