Signs you need this repair
No power at all with a known-good charger
The board isn't starting its power sequence. Often a shorted capacitor, a failed power IC or a blown fuse.
Won't charge or charges intermittently
A failed charging IC, USB-C port controller or damaged charge port solder joints.
Boot loops or freezes at the logo
Can be a storage, memory or power rail fault the device hits partway through startup.

Board repair or replacement?
A replacement board swaps thousands of good parts to fix one bad one, and on phones and recent Macs it also loses your data. Board-level repair usually costs a fraction of a replacement and keeps everything as it was. Replacement makes more sense when a board has large-area liquid corrosion, a cracked multi-layer board, or a failed main processor. We'll tell you which situation you're in.
Thinking of fixing it yourself?
Board-level repair needs a microscope, temperature-controlled hot air, fine soldering tools, a bench power supply and schematics. Without them, it's easy to lift pads, knock off neighboring parts or overheat a chip. Swapping a whole board from a donor device is an option on some consoles and PCs, but on many phones and Macs the board is paired to other parts or holds your data. If a DIY attempt went wrong, bring it in as is and tell us what was done.
After your repair
- Use a reputable charger and cable for whatever was repaired.
- Keep liquids away from laptops and consoles. Another spill can undo a repair.
- Give consoles room to breathe and clean their vents.
- Back up phones and computers regularly, so a future board failure doesn't put data at risk.
Questions people ask
Is micro-soldering worth it?
Usually. A board-level repair is typically far cheaper than a replacement board or a new device, and it keeps your data. We'll tell you if yours isn't worth it.
My shop said the motherboard is dead. Is it really?
Often not. 'Bad motherboard' usually means one component on it has failed. Get a second opinion before paying for a replacement.
Can you recover photos from a dead iPhone?
Often, yes. The data sits on the board's storage chip, and repairing the board enough to boot is how we get to it.
Do you fix liquid damage?
Yes. Don't charge it or power it on, and don't use rice. The sooner it reaches our bench, the better.
