Here's the most common way PS5s arrive at our bench in worse shape than they started: a DIY HDMI repair or a DIY deep-clean, and a fan connector that tore clean off the motherboard on the way. It's an easy mistake — the PS5's fan ribbon connector is fragile and glued-feeling, and one confident tug lifts the pads right off the board. Most shops will tell you that's fatal. It isn't: we rebuild the connector at board level — repairing the torn pads and traces under the microscope and fitting a new connector — as part of finishing the repair you started.
