Laptop repair symptoms we fix
Every laptop repair starts with a free diagnostic. We tell you exactly what failed and what it will cost before any work begins.
Won't turn on
Usually a failed charging circuit, dead CMOS battery, loose power connector, or a failed power-management chip on the board. We test the DC jack, rails, and board before quoting anything.
Cracked or black screen
A cracked LCD panel or a failed display cable are the two most common culprits. We carry panels for Dell, HP, Lenovo, ASUS, Surface, and MacBook in stock — most screen replacements finish same day.
Overheating and fan noise
Thermal paste dries out after 3–5 years, the heatsink clogs with dust, or a fan bearing fails. Left alone it throttles performance, then kills the GPU or CPU die. A thermal service takes about an hour.
Slow or freezing
The culprit is almost always a failing HDD, a full or fragmented storage drive, RAM degrading, or malware. An SSD swap is the single biggest performance upgrade an old laptop can get — boots in seconds instead of minutes.
Battery won't hold a charge
Lithium cells lose capacity after 300–500 full cycles. A swollen battery is also a fire risk — stop using the laptop and bring it in. We replace batteries in most laptop models same day.
Liquid damage
Water, coffee, and soda cause corrosion that spreads for days after the spill. Power the laptop off immediately, leave it off, and bring it in as-is. Do not put it in rice — that does nothing for board corrosion.
Broken hinge
Hinges fail when the lid is lifted from one corner, or simply from years of daily use. A loose hinge cracks the plastic chassis and eventually tears the display cable. We replace hinges and repair chassis cracks.
No Wi-Fi
Usually a failed Wi-Fi card, a torn antenna cable (common after screen replacements at other shops), or a driver issue. We confirm which before quoting.
Keyboard failure
Individual key failure, full keyboard failure, or keys that register the wrong characters. Liquid damage causes most keyboard failures. We replace full keyboards — not keycaps — for a reliable repair.

What makes our laptop repair different
Board-level micro-soldering in-house
When a laptop won't turn on because a single chip failed, most shops say "needs a new motherboard" — $600–$1,200 and your data goes with it. We diagnose to the failed component and replace it under a microscope. That's the repair other shops can't do.
Published pricing, no surprises
Every repair starts with a free diagnostic and a firm written quote. You approve the number before we touch anything. No upsells, no discovery fees, no surprise charges at pickup.
No fix, no fee
If we can't repair your laptop, you pay nothing for the diagnostic. We'd rather tell you honestly that a repair isn't worth it than take your money on a job we can't finish right.
Our laptop repair process
No surprises. Here's exactly what happens from drop-off to pickup.
- 1
Free diagnostic
Drop your laptop off. We run a full hardware diagnostic — display, storage, RAM, power rails, thermals — and report back within 24–48 hours, usually same day.
- 2
Firm quote, your approval
We give you a written price. No work begins until you say go. No hidden fees added later.
- 3
Repair
Most screen, battery, and keyboard repairs finish same day. Board-level work takes 2–5 business days. We'll tell you upfront which yours is.
- 4
You verify before you pay
We power it on with you, show you the fix, and you confirm it's right — then you pay.
