Mac Won't Turn On? It's Usually One Failed Component — Not a Dead Mac
A Mac that shows no signs of life almost always has a specific, findable cause: a failed SMC (the chip that manages power), a dead CD3217 — the USB-C power chip that's a famous failure point on 2016–2020 MacBook Pros and Airs — a blown fuse, or a short on a power rail. The Apple Store's answer to all of these is the same: replace the entire logic board for $600–$1,200 and lose your data. Ours is different: we find the failed component under a microscope and replace it— typically $149–$300, data untouched. If your Mac died suddenly with no warning, don't write it off. The odds are better than you think.
Stuck on the Apple Logo or Boot-Looping
A Mac frozen at the logo is trapped somewhere between hardware and software — and guessing wrong gets expensive. Sometimes it's a corrupted macOS update or a failing SSD; sometimes it's a board-level fault masquerading as a software problem. We diagnose which one it actually is (free), and we do it with your data as priority one: no “just wipe it and reinstall” unless you've approved it and your files are safe first. Most boot-loop Macs leave here working, with everything still on them.
MacBook & iMac Screen Repair
Cracked glass, black screen, vertical lines, flickering, a backlight that's dim or shows spotlight-shaped glow at the bottom of the display — we repair them all, with screens from $149 (model dependent). That backlight glow matters: uneven light at the bottom of certain MacBook Pros is often a damaged display cable or backlight circuit, a repair, not a reason to replace the machine. We fix MacBook Air and MacBook Pro displays across Intel and Apple Silicon models, and iMac screens too. If your screen works sometimes at certain lid angles, that's a classic cable fault — bring it in before it becomes never.
Battery Replacement & Charging Problems
Swollen battery? If the trackpad is lifting or the case is bulging, stop charging it and bring it in today — this is a safety issue, not a quirk.
A MacBook battery that dies by lunch is annoying. A swollen one is urgent. We replace batteries in every MacBook Air and Pro model from $99, same-day for most, with cycle-count honesty up front (sometimes your battery is fine and the real problem is elsewhere — we'll tell you). Won't charge at all? That's often not the battery: USB-C charging ports wear out, and on many models the CD3217 power chip is the true culprit — both are repairs we do in-house, port replacement to board-level.
“This App Requires macOS 14 or Later” — We Fix That Too
Nothing ages a working Mac faster than software that refuses to run on it. If your apps, your bank, or your browser are demanding a macOS version your machine “can't” run, bring it in: we handle clean macOS upgrades, the SSD and RAM upgrades that make newer macOS actually run well on older hardware, and — in many cases — getting a current macOS onto Macs that Apple has officially stopped supporting. Before you replace a perfectly good iMac or MacBook because of a version number, let us look. The upgrade is usually a fraction of a new machine, and you keep everything exactly where it was.
T2 Security Chip Errors & Recovery
If your 2018–2020 Mac is throwing T2 errors — random shutdowns, boot panics, a machine that bricked itself mid-update — you've discovered the most misunderstood chip Apple ever shipped. The T2 controls security, storage encryption, and boot; when it corrupts, most shops give up, because the fix requires DFU-level restores and a real understanding of what the T2 does to your data (your files are encrypted throughit, which makes amateur repair attempts genuinely dangerous). We handle T2 revives and restores in-house, and we'll be straight with you up front about what's recoverable in your specific failure — because with T2 machines, honesty about data is the whole job.

This is the heart of what we do and the reason devices get driven here from three counties away. Typical cost: $149–$300. Typical alternative: a $600–$1,200 board swap that takes your files with it.
