What we use and why it matters
OLED vs. LCD screens
OLED screens (iPhone X and newer, Samsung Galaxy S-series) emit light per pixel, producing true blacks, high contrast, and vivid color. They are the more expensive panel to replace. OEM-grade OLED panels match the color profile, brightness, and True Tone behavior of the original screen exactly. Cheap aftermarket OLED panels are noticeably less accurate and dim. We use OEM-grade or quality-matched panels only.
LCD screens (iPhone 11, XR, most iPad models, most Android mid-range phones) use a backlight layer. They are less expensive to replace while maintaining excellent brightness and color accuracy. Quality-matched LCD panels are visually indistinguishable from the original.
Glass-only vs. full-assembly replacement
A glass-only repair separates the broken outer glass from the digitizer and LCD using heat, leaving the panel intact. It is less expensive — but the separation process carries meaningful risk of damaging the underlying panel, which would make the full repair more expensive. Glass-only is appropriate in specific situations and we will tell you honestly when it is and when it is not.
A full-assembly replacement swaps the complete screen stack (glass, digitizer, and panel) in one unit. It is faster, lower risk, and produces a more reliable result. We recommend full-assembly for nearly all phone screen repairs.
